Serbian Youth International NOVI SAD 2013 Has Begun

The most significant sport event for the Serbian Badminton Federation in 2013, SERBIAN YOUTH INTERNATIONAL NOVI SAD 2013, was succesfully opened yesterday in Novi Sad with the presence of unprecedented number of national and international institutions representatives.

International tournament for the younger group competitors U11, U13, U15 and U17 from six countries of Southeastern Europe: Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia started with the official Opening Ceremony followed by first matches of round 1. The Opening Ceremony has been attended by following members of institutions that provided full support for Serbian Youth International: Mirko Kantar, head of department within Ministry of Youth and Sports, Predrag Svilar, Member of Novi Sad City Hall in charge of Youth and Sports, Nikola Kuljaca, Olympic Committee of Serbia sports director, Vladimir Batez, Serbian Sports Federation representative, Puzant Kazabjan, President of Balkan Badminton Association, Vesna Jovicic, Managing Director of Novi Sad City Museum, Nemanja Radovic, City of Belgrade Secretariat for Sports and Youth representative, Predrag Marcetic, owner of Tin Sped Company. During the Opening Ceremony, representatives of Ministry of Youth and Sports and Olympic Committee of Serbia donated sets of badminton equipment to the recently formed Badminton Developing Centres located in the cities of Pancevo, Vrsac, Zrenjanin, Kovin and Obrenovac. After the opening speech given by Mirko Kantar, head of department within Ministry of Youth and Sports, Predrag Svilar as the City Host addressed the auditorium and officially opened the tournament. All the officials and numerous guests at the Opening Ceremony were delighted and expressed praises for the extraordinary organization of both the Sport Event and the Association.

Succesfull realization of this tournament, listed in the calendar of European Badminton Association, was also supported by: Serbian Institute for Sport and Sports Medicine, Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia, Yonex Company, Lasta Transport Company, Winner's, Nasa Koka and Time Zone.

First matches of Round 1 in Singles were marked by the triumph of the best Serbian badminton players who are aiming for the medals.
